2020 Schools and Districts of Character
Congratulations to DOVE SCIENCE ACADEMY SOUTH OKC for being named an Honorable Mention School of Character in 2020! In just its second year DSA South OKC has implemented a strong culture of character and academics that is typical of all DOVE schools in Oklahoma. On May 15, 2020, Character.org announced the National Schools and Districts of Character certification for 84 schools and 7 districts in 15 states, plus 1 international school from the nation of Colombia. During a time in which 2020 has become a very tense and stressful year for many across the nation and the world, the staffs and students of these exceptional schools are definitely bright lights. 2019 State and National Schools of Character
Character.org announced the newest recipients of recognition as Schools and Districts of Character. 2 Oklahoma schools were among the 87 schools and 3 school districts from across the nation. Roosevelt Elementary School in Pryor Sadler Arts Academy in Muskogee Both schools were recognized at the National Forum in October in Washington D.C. 2018 National Schools of Character were:
Dove School of Discovery, Dove Science Academy (Tulsa), and MacArthur High School. Sadler Arts Academy also received a Promising Practice in character development along with Discovery and MacArthur plus three other Oklahoma schools that did not attend the Forum – Dove Science Academy (OKC), Muskogee Early Childhood Center, and Pryor High School. |
